basically because of non-believers in the word of God.
the time has come to seperate yourself from the lies and deception of satan, as much as you can. Do you think God will hold it against us for being americans.
2 Corinthians 6
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

I think 9/11 had a lot to do it. The "other moral failure" of people in power who are hoodwinking the world and finger-pointing to those who protest. Common courtesy and integrity has been drained out of American politics and that touches us all. Stand up for what is right and just in your own home first. That will be the best thing you could do to change the world.

Amen. People have lost a sense of right and wrong in worrying that they may offend people. However, we don't want to purposely offend people for the sake of offending people, and try to stir up stuff, we have a right to say what we think, just as they do. People nowadays are more sensitive than they were 50 years ago. However I totally agree with you, it's hard not to offend when anything we do can be interpreted as offensive.

LOL, the 11th commandment. That's awesome.
I think this started with the Yuppies. But I could be wrong. And just remember when you are "standing up for what is right", to do this is fine--but to demand that your subjective moral views are the "only right way" (lest there be punishment) is wrong.
For a good example of this philosophy gone awry, check out information on the Salem Witch Trials. We must remember to use common sense.

It is prevalent in our society today. It seems that offending someone is the biggest crime a person can commit. Even in some modern churches a PC gospel is being preached deleting words like judgment and hell. (church attendance and tithes are more important to PC churches than reaching the lost for Jesus Christ) Someone once quoted the following to me; "If you don't stand up for something, you will fall for anything." Grace and Peace and down with political correctness!

I could not agree more!
Your views on this are mine too.
All this political correctness is causing havoc at my place of work.
Being a governmental unit, it means that we have to be on our guard all of the time (others are particularly watching us on this) and as we are an equal-opportunities employer it is not any easier, the average employees complain of not being able to be themselves around the minority groups we have, as soon as they don't like or don't get what they want they would shout "foul-play" and time and effort is wasted sorting out what was said and who said it first and the like. TOTAL WASTE OF TIME let us bring common sense back! Call a spade 'a spade' and teach every one to be courteous, kind and tolerant of others, that is what I say!

And another thing... Why are we always worried about offending people from other countries that come here and aren't even interested in being an American. you know land of the free home of the brave. They show no pride nor do they stand beside us unless it effects their opportunities to the almighty dollar. They are just here for opportunity. Nothing more, nothing less. They hate us and yet here we are worrying about being politically correct.

I think it came about in the '60's with all the social activism. I think it is a blight on society and does nothing but repress freedoms and ideology. It's a disease that needs to be irradicated!

Everything gets taken to extreme in society. We needed to be less offensive to some people but it's gone too far. Hopefully we can get back to the center and stop pussyfooting around idiots

we are a Culture and Society on the eve of great changes. there are changes which many of us " old timers " do not agree with as some of these changes have hurt rather than helped our Culture and Society. as an example we are Americans and we should not have to learn another language just to satisfy immigrants and these immigrants if they want to stay here should learn to speak our language.
