I need to collect a urine sample from my cat, and since I have 2 other cats, I locked the one in a room with the litter box (and some food and water, of course). That was 10 hours ago. He hasn't peed yet, and I feel bad keeping him locked up. So I'm just curious how much longer it might be.

Of course, not even 5 minutes after I asked the question, my cat finally peed! Figures :-)

I think your checking up on him made him calmer that you aren't punishing him. I would have, instead, closetted myself with him for a bit, then out, then in again, so that he doesn't get stressed.

Good luck with the results!

That's very obliging of him. Sometimes I have to leave a cat at the vet so they can get a sample.
