I am not saying burn down the church. But, what is the point?

Catholicism is based on the Bible. This is a compilation of ancient texts cobbled together by primitive societies thousands of years ago, written by people who had a limited understanding of the world around them.

This is no different than other religions. They've all got 'sacred scripture' to guide them.

Humans are in the unfortunate circumstance of having the intelligence and consciousness to realize that this mortal life will, one day, end for us all. And not wanting life to end, invented religion and the afterlife to comfort us.

Neither am I saying burn down the church, I have a deep appreciation for it. But trans-substantiation is not explicitly stated in the Bible so why tie God down to man's conditions? Does infant baptism remove original sin, or is it a replacement for Old Testament circumcision (Baptists put a completely different definition to this term). Confession? It's a beautiful rite for the Catholic Church, but does the Bible say anything about the power of the priest to forgive sins? They say yes, I see their point but if we can boldly approach the throne, how is it necessary?

I'm sure that the Catholic side can defend their positions with each of my arguments, but I'm a person that fears God and has looked at both sides and made my decision as to "correct" belief.

There is no good argument against Roman Catholicism. The teachings are sound and from Jesus and His prophets. Only man can corrupt these teachings and has over the course of history from time to time.

God will judge harshly against those who persecute His followers, His son Jesus, who founded His Church!

First of all - I think one of the major differences is the way that the RC church approaches christianity. They believe that it is the Bible PLUS Tradition - not just the Bible alone. This was the major point of Martin Luther when he questioned their tenents. They put a tremendous amount of weight on the argument of traditions as being equally important for salvation, versus those who believe that the Bible/Word of God is sufficient in and of itself to lead people to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour. To equate something other than Christ's work on the Cross alone as sufficient really says that He didn't do enough to secure our Salvation - so that really makes His sacrifice pointless! God doesn't make mistakes! When Jesus said "It is finished!" on the Cross - He meant "It is complete!" - NOTHING else was needed to make us acceptable in God's eyes but our acceptance of His sacrifice in our place for our sins. He did it ALL - for us.....and it is FREE!! All we have to do is take the gift! We don't deserve it, and we can't earn it by anything we can do.....free for the taking!! Pretty awsome, if you ask me.
That, as I understand it, is the major difference. There are many others also, but this is the major one. Hope that helps.

do you mean in general or with current events.
In general, may people feel the church is too worldly. IN other words, it doesn't follow the bible and add to it.
in current events, the pope said something that got alot of Muslims mad over Islam.

one argument against it is that it is Idolatry.
They have made up church doctrines that are not found in the Bible.
