Subtract 3,500 calories from your regular intake a day & that should be 1 pound. Although losing about 3 pounds a week is much healthier, I do understand wanting to get that weight off. & a little bit of exercise always helps, even just 15 minutes of walking a day! Good luck!

P.S. The above answer is so mean. Why do people make such a big deal out of spelling? Nobody's perfect, geez!

It depends on how many calories you burn in a day. Find out your resting metabolic rate and then try to figure out how many calories you burn exercising (if you do any exercise). A pound is 3500 calories so I'm pretty sure you could not burn that many calories everyday. Aim for a pound or two per week. But you would have to burn 3500 more calories than you consume.

Whenever I lose something I stand back a bit to see better. I don't know how much food I would need to eat in order to lose a pond. Does that make any sense? I suppose I might lose my sense of direction and you might say I have 'lost my way', but I have never lost a pond!

Drs. say the healthiest is a pound a week--which is 500 calories less that what you eat normally everyday.
