Give him a day of golf, or any other sport he likes. Treat him to a ball game with dinner before. I don't think men are too crazy about receiving clothes. If he is the type of man that likes music, treat him to a night on the town. Maybe a blues club. My father passed away when he was 51, but if he were still here, the skys the limit.

My day turned 61 on his last birthday and I got him a DVD set of the show M.A.S.H. (one of his favorites). I think these sets are a great gift because you can choose a show that they remember from years ago or something they don't often get to see. In the past I have gotten DVD sets of the Red Green Show, Evening at the Improv, The Honeymooners, and The Beverly Hillbillies...there are so many shows available lately.

Buy him a book of Bhagavad Gita. By reading this one gets the best peace of mind in the world. I too have done the same to all the people who are aged above 50. ( Unfortunately I lost my father when he was 47 & I was 21).

You really don't even need to buy anything for him. Just get a recent picture of you and him or even an old baby you and him(that you can find in a photo album). Put it in a very nice frame and I'm sure he would love that more than anything else. Its sentimetal. And those are the best gifts of all.

does he have a hobby? if not, how about taking your Dad out to eat, just the two of you for a Father/Daughter time. If you don't ever have any one on one time with your Dad, he'd probably like that and it will be something he will always remember.
Material things get throw out, but time spent, last forever.

I usually buy my father gift certificates from Lowe's. Can never go wrong with that (unless he doesn't own a house)

make him a collage of family pictures from all ages and people.
This will be more sentimental value than anything and much more appreciated as its a personal gift instead of a purchased one.
You can also arrange to get whole fam together for a professional fam photo

Golf stuff, fishing stuff... something to do with his favorite hobby or activity. Or a nice frame with a picture of you and he in it.
