Wash your hair the night before. The natural oils will help hold a style better and longer. The day of the dance, apply mouse before you curl it. Make sure you use heat to curl it. Then spray the finished curls with hairspray. Style, and spray again. It's a lot of product in your hair, but it will hold the culrs better than just one application. I'm not a big fan of gel, I think it makes the hair feel too stiff. You might also want to consider pulling the front back and up off of your face. You don't want it getting in the way while you dance, and it will add to blemishes from the styling products you put in your hair. Get two combs and just pull back each side for an easy to do style. The combs can be natural to blend with your hair, or they can be ornamental to match the dress.

Your makeup should play up your eyes. You will be eating and/or drinking, so a bold lipstick color will take a lot of touch-ups throughout the night to keep it looking great. Stick with a more natural color on your lips so it's not so obvious as it wears off or fades.

For dancing, don't try to do anything you normally don't. If you aren't used to fast club dancing, now is not the time to try it. Wearing heels and a formal dress can make even the most basic steps harder. Stick with what you know, and what you feel confident doing.

Remember to have a good time, this shouldn't be about looking like a model or dancing like a professional.

I love the hair down idea. im not a big fan of up-do's. you should experiment a couple days before to see how your hair stays. try hot curlers or a curling iron. use a large barreled one for bigger curls and waves. use a hairspray to set it and even if the curls do come loose..it will still look pretty as waves/
