simplicity of the world? Why is everyone so ignorant? And I use this word to the fullest extent of its definition. Isn't it easier to be peaceful and passive rather than go completely out of your way to be rude, greedy and caught up in this pitiful excuse of a world? How many people say hello to a passing stranger? How many people say thank-you if someone holds a door? How many people hold the door? How many people slow down and enjoy their families? How many people instead of wandering about what they want next sit back and indulge in what they have now? Will everyone at least once a day (no matter how busy) live in now, now, now instead of more, more, more. Forget about tomorrow and live for today. Be kind, nice and caring at least with the people you know.

Move to Ohio. People are nice here... for the most part! At least better than any other place I've been or lived.
I'm sorry that you have had such bad experiences. Just be the person you wish others would be. One kind deed leads to another!!

If you are a yankee, a person from the North you won't find hospitality in the south unless you are spending money there. The southern people show a fake face of hospitality to get you to spend your money. They don't want you to live there. Their true feelings are that they hate everyone that is not from the south. They tolerate the blacks as long as they are in service postions and the immigrants. Don't let their smiles fool you. They are just as greedy as the rest of the world. The world has never been simplictic. The people of the world are very diverse and do not interact well. Thats why we are always at war. You should write your leaders every day and ask and educated them how to be responsible citizens of the world not just the big talkers and war mongers that they are.

Some of the decent people live in Texas.Not all people are ignorant. I hold doors open for anybody man or woman. If someone holds the door open for me I always make sure I say thank you. I always enjoy time with my family I always live for today and not tomorrow. I hate rude and greedy people. Yes it 's easier to be peaceful and passive. I'm sorry that you have had bad experience.

I try to live my life just as you have described and also have noticed how people are changing. Everyone seems to be in too much of a hurry to do nothing, too into themselves that they care about noone else, and so worried about what the neighbors have that they don't that it makes me sick!!!!! I live in a small town which isn't near as bad as the big cities but it is slowly getting that way too. Me, for one, no matter how rude people get, will always be the best me i can be.....it makes me feel better when i go to bed at night!!

My guess is that you are just living in the wrong part of the country. Do yourself a favor and come visit any of the little towns along the Eastern Coast of North Carolina. Your eyes will quickly spot the friendly and gracious people that you are seeking. Taxes and Utilities are reasonably priced and the weather is pretty good. Check it out if you are really serious.

Here in Gods country(Eastern Shore of Maryland) we still respect one another help our neighbors and the occasional stranger. An I for one will always hold the door for a female. It's a every day thing to wave to the people you see in the street. Sanity and community spirit still mean something here. and we like it that way.
