simplicity of the world? Why is everyone so ignorant? And I use this word to the fullest extent of its definition. Isn't it easier to be peaceful and passive rather than go completely out of your way to be rude, greedy and caught up in this pitiful excuse of a world? How many people say hello to a passing stranger? How many people say thank-you if someone holds a door? How many people hold the door? How many people slow down and enjoy their families? How many people instead of wandering about what they want next sit back and indulge in what they have now? Will everyone at least once a day (no matter how busy) live in now, now, now instead of more, more, more. Forget about tomorrow and live for today. Be kind, nice and caring at least with the people you know.

If you want a place to stay for the night, just ask away.

What a good question. I find that here in Texas, people are pretty nice, but in too much of a hurry. If these people that are always on the phone, driving fast, and planning for the future would stop once a day to take a breath, what a better place this world would be. I try to say Hello to anyone that looks at me and I say thank you when a door is held open. I enjoy the sunset and rise and the smell of fresh cut grass. Have a wonderful day!

I personally don't normally speak to a passing stranger unless they initiate the conversation, but thats not because I'm rude, it's just being cautious, though I do always hold doors open, and thank those hold the doors for me. Though I do often worry about tomarro I do spend time enjoying today, and my family is the most important thing in my life. So although I may not be a bubbly person I do feel that I am a decent, good hearted person.

Your philosophy about life is right on the money! Good for you, don't let the world around you change that! You're in a better place than a lot of folks out there.

Sadly, theres been a decline in basic courtesy - I think that people
are either too self-absorbed to do basic things for other, like hold the door open and the like - or those same people just think ( sadly enough ) that it's "fun" to be rude.....

Forget about moving south. Them yankees have been moving down here to "get away from it all", and they're bringing it all with them. I guess the best place to look for a nice person would be in the mirror. (ouch, that hurt)

Its not that much easy! Everyone has to live for his future, for that he should earn lot more and more as far as he can. In this kind of busy and materialized world everyone must look after them and their family and can't able to wait for others or to live for others.

What a wonderful way to think. Im from southeast texas and like the others say, their are some that do those things. People who CHOOSE to act rude, ugly, and disrespectful are very miserable unhappy people themselves and they want others to feel the way they do. They are selfish, selfcentered people. To all the unhappy mean, people out their, STOP BLAMING OTHERS FOR YOUR MISERY AND UNHAPPINESS. TAKE RESPONSABILITY FOR YOUR OWN HAPPINESS. YOU CHOOSE TO FEEL THE WAY YOU DO!

It's that the jerks tend to stand out more than the nicer people. In our home we say that no matter what anyone else says or how anyone else treats you we always say please and thank you, yes ma'mm and sir, hold doors, excuse ourselves, etc etc. We aren't willing to conform to the rude soceity we are surrounded with! Pay it foward...

I live in the south where we do say hello to strangers and please and thank you. But like everywhere else there are still a few rude people here.
