I've never frozen mashed potatoes, but I have frozen other varieties, and I wouldn't reccomend it. The texture changes when freezing.

Yes, mashed potatoes freeze well if placed in a working freezer even at 5 degrees.

Nope. They get all watery when you take them out and it's like you're eating mashed potatoes that were accidentally dropped in a sink full of water!
Ugh!
Don't do that!

They do get watery upon thawing. Reheat slowly after thawing, and if they're too watery, add potato flakes. If they're too thick, add a little milk or half and half or cream. It's not ideal, but who can resist mashed taters?!

Probably not. It's mostly water in them and the potatoes would get ice crystals inside them, destroying texture and flavor. It'd taste like freezer burn.

No.
The best thing to do with leftover mashies is to store them, tightly sealed, one night in the fridge. In the morning, press them into patties. Fry up in a little corn or olive oil. Wonderful!

Personally I have never tried it but I have frozen just about everything else and generally everything comes out OK. Give it a try. Better than seeing it tossed out go to waste.

No they don't - in fact, they don't really reheat well at all. If you still want to reheat them, I'd add a little liquid and stir - maybe some milk or half and half.
