I've never heard of fabric softner, I have heard that if you run a fabric softener sheet down your hair it keeps the static down.

You can, but watch out for the phosphates in it. That's an acid base and could cause damage later on. Stick with hair conditioner and leave the softener for your clothing.

Dryer sheets work well in the winter to control static but too much use is bad and can leave your hair feeling greasy.

Never heard of it - but good to know!
I think I'd be concerned about the 'powder'y stuff' showing up on my dark hair though... can envision myself looking like I had a powdered wig on :o)

yes, but not on a daily basis. Only in a crunch if you run out of conditioner.

I did hear that it would control fly-aways and frizzies....
Never have done it though...actually just don't want my hair to smell like Snuggle.
