I have heard white bread has bad stuff in it, can anyone provide more details?

Also, are most bagels that you get in the USA made with the same ingredients in white bread or not?

Even when they say the flour is advertized as "fortified" those 11 or so nutrients they put back in are an artificial version of the 25 to 30 natural elements and vitimins that they took out in order to bleach the flour in the first place...those elements provide a large amount of dietary fiber which helps to push food though the intestinal tract and reduce the risk of intestinal diseases such as colon cancer..bagels like some breads can be made either way with naturally ground or with processed flour so it depends on how they are made.

No body ever said bagels were good for you. Maybe whole wheat multi-grain ones, but white bread is bleached, desecrated grains with no life in them. Whatever vitamins are found in white bread has been added back in.

It won't hurt you but all the nutrients and fiber has been removed to make it practically worthless as a good food. Particularly useless is Wonder Bread which is what I grew up on and loved it back in the day.

it's not that it has bad stuff, but that lots of the good stuff is taken out, like fiber, wholegrain nutrients, the flour is bleached to make it look more attractive. most bagels are made of the same stuff but cooked differently, boiling first means less fat
