she is desexed and it is not just one all the tom cats in the
area take it in turns to urinate all over my front door. also does anyone know a good way to get rid of the male cat urine smell?

here are a few things you can do to eliminate the odor. If you can catch the problem while it's still "fresh," you'll be better off.
Remove any excrement and blot the entire wet area immediately and firmly with paper towels. Wash affected area several times with white vinegar. Rinse stain thoroughly with warm water. Blot dry with paper towels. Apply a specialized stain and odor-removing bacteria or enzyme cleaner.
Tip: Read the instructions carefully before using these products and test them in an invisible area. If you can not remove some old stains, try sanding away the stain and resealing the wood.
You must be extra vigilant about cat odor and attack the problems as soon as it occurs. Also you should remove all traces of the odor, because if the scent remains, the cat will do it again in the same spot.

If she is spayed she should not be attracting Toms. If she is, there is a chance that they missed a piece of ovary- it happens more often than you think. The way to tell is by her behavior- does she act in heat? Yowling and hanging around the door? If so when she is acting like that take her back to see if something was missed.
Urine smell can be removed by dilute bleach sprayed on your door.

if the tom cats r outside and your cat is inside than dont worry.poor bleach on the spot to get rid of the smell

The female cat is in Heat, otherwise Tom-cats ignore her.

Sounds to me like the vet didn't quite finish the spay job and she's in heat. Time for a return trip telling him/her that she appears not to be spayed [completely]. Ovarian tissue left behind could cause this.
If you're talking a wooden door, I would not be inclined to use bleach on it - it could damage the finish. Try Odoban (my favorite) or Nature's Miracle.

you can get rid of the urine by cleaning it up with nature's miracle. as far as getting rid of the male cats around call animal control they will get them and get them neutered and get them put up for adoption.

she is in heat and the toms know it will be rather aromatic at your house some pet deoderizer/neutalizer i'm sure pet smart has something along these lines.

If you chain vicious cat eating dogs up outside your place then the toms will stay away. I can assure you of that..........

its disgusting that people have their pets neutered and give them hormone pills to control their urges! its pathetic!
let the animals live! just because you give it shelter and food doesnt mean you can deny it sex!
