The best person to talk to is an orthopedic MD. How did your tibia/fibula get infected? If you had say, cellulitis in the affected leg, this infection can spread and invades the bones beneath. So it not unusual for the tibia/fibula/ankle to be affected from the cellulitis. That is reason why when you go to the hospital with cellulitis they will do a x-ray, to make sure that the bones are not compromised. See an orthopedic doctor.

Since there is no bone called the tibula, you are either referring to the tibia or the fibula. Either way, I know of no infection that spreads in the bone other than cancer or gangrene. I don't think anyone here can help you with that. You're going to have to suck it up and go to a doc.

Tibia or Fibula ? Right ankle or Left ankle ? Osteomyelitis does not spread to nearby joints.

I hope you are on antibiotics. Vancromyacin is one of the big dogs of antibiotics and you might need that. You don't want to get ostymylitis.
