Stop and put an end to all Immigration for the next 5 or 10 years. Make sure all of those who are here Illegally are sent back to their respective home countries and let them apply legally. It took me over 10 years to get here in the 70's. It was a struggle even though I had a family and with a good educational backgorund and excellant command of english even before I came here.
You just don't come here to be here. You come here so that you can offer what the country needs today. Good Support and patriotism. Too many illegals and policiticians are afraid to discuss on this subject.
Hope some one stops all immigration process right now and deal with the current problems that we have here .

While noncitizens with resident status can serve in the US military, the law bars illegal immigrants from enlisting.
President Bush signed an executive order last year giving expedited citizenship to "green-card soldiers" who served in the Iraq war, about 10,000 have applied

Illegal Immigrants do not want to be Americans, they want jobs so they can support their families. Many immigrants try to learn the English language but it is hard for them to learn a second language. I am a Hispanic-American and I take very offensively what you have said about immigrants, don't you think people deserve an opportunity to progress and succeed in another country? Give them a break, they're only trying to make the best out of life. Let them live, and enjoy life as anybody else would...

Bad idea. Not everyone who wants citizenship is qualified to serve in the military, and as an American I don't want to be defended by illegal immigrants.
Neither Republicans nor Democrats would support that measure, because Republicans take the military seriously, and Democrats just want blanket amnesty for illegals because it increases their voter base. No chance.

Of course they should learn English,I can't figure out how they pass the test for citizenship are you telling me they give the test in languages other than English , why? And I don't know about giving them guns right away but they should have to prove their loyalty somehow.

NO!
A nation needs to fight her own battles using her own citizens and legal residents! We do not need indentured slaves to defend our country or attack another.
Ever heard of Hessian Soldiers? Paid by the British? To break the revolutionaries? Who won? Why? Not the exclusive reason: But many Hessian Soldiers deserted once they got here and didn't fight for the British. Google it...or About.com it...you'll learn about how this idea doesn't work.
Not to mention, it just doesn't make sense that someone coming here for work would fight for our country when they don't even want to be a citizen of this nation. Some do...that come from far away. But those who live close by, they just want our green so they can send it back to their own country.

I'd rather screen the bad sort out, altogether. Gangs and the 'twice illegal'. English should be a requirement, though. We know that those who don't learn English tend to pass down poverty to their children for generations. Their own people know that, too, they just don't like it to be so.

That's the big difference between immigrants these days and, say, a hundred years ago. Back then, people who came to America wanted to be, well, American. They happily adopted our culture (and added to it, enriching it), and happily learned English.
Today, they don't want to become American, they want to remain Mexican (or whatever) and just live here, sponging off the system.
