I was a C.C.T.V Operator these cameras are there to detect and deter crime and the safety of the public anything that has been recorded can be only be used as evidence personaly I think theres not enough in any place they not peeping toms they doing a job without them alot of people get off with the crime They have a policy about privacy ie not to look in public house windows its a certain degree of privacy if your in the town center this is private property if your in your own house that your privacy hope this helps in a way

Well its all good and fair to complain about the cctv cameras invading our privacy...but wait till you get attacked late one night (like i had been) when there's no one around you!!
When i saw the gang of people wanting to harm me, i ran to where i KNEW a camera would be, and when the gang approached and realised there was a camera there, they backed off and left me alone!
That camera potentially saved my life!
So think clearly and properly before moaning about them!
(and MOST of the people who moan about the cctv camera's usually do so because they have something to hide)

most middle class/middle England/ lib rel types, have to much time on there hands, and constantly go around bleating the same old sheep like chorus,IE,big brother is watching us,gay marriage, fem ail priests, but as in being bullied at school as an example, a big brother can be a handy item to have around, and when we leave school, street crime ,terrorists of all types,yobbos/lout culture continue to Billie people,we need more not less, people going about there normal day to day life, who feel they are being watched,to the point of worrying about them, may benefit from Sheetrock therapy/care. when a crime is commit ed,and CCTV cameras were not working, the very same people are the first to shout why, taken on a global scale,if they were in Iraq,we would have known if weapons of mass destruction were present,we could have found Saddam and trick,a lot quicker, prevent more of these heathen insurgents, blowing up other human beings in the name off freedom, remember the IRA,Hitler,it took time, but now and others like them are just black spot in the history books, but a constant reminder to us all,we need to keep our eye on the ball.ie.9/11.we cannot have enough security,i bet the people in Defoe,Congo,Rwanda, cheating,Somalia and countless other states ,wish they had CCTV, linked straight into Kori an ans office.and a huge camera in the polar regions, to monitor the demise of the ice caPS.bring on more cameras,ps i got one monitoring mi drive at night.
