Muslims use "PBUH" only after the names of Prophets, like Mohammed and Jesus Christ, "PBUH"="Peace Be Upon Him",
"Him" refers to the mentioned Prophet.

Sincerely
Mike

I'll bet the Muslims do a lot of internet chatting, because PBUH looks to me like one of those 4-letter acronyms that are used in chat rooms -- God only know what those people in the chat rooms are saying half the time; of course, there are also some 3-letter one's like LOL.

PBUH/T -- it is "peace and blessings of God be upon him/them", not man's. we dont use it for Allah as He is God. it is used for all of His prophets, Angels.

when muslims say -- peace be upon them, they do it out of respect for them. PROPHETS were men of faith. they were BROTHERS OF A FAITH. and they were sent by Allah for the whole of mankind.

we respect them and remember them because, they are role models for us. they were selfless and were not self-centered. they spent their lives in spreading the word of God. it is for this act of selflessness and righteousness, that Allah orders every muslim to pray for them, so that they will pray for us and with us on the Day of Resurrection and Day of Judgement.

we pray to God to bless the prophets with His mercy. and we muslims do it even when we greet someone -- assalam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatahu -- may the peace and blessings of Allah be with u. it is a must in Islam that -- a beleiver is he who desires for his brother what he desires for himself.

Just for the record - Allah is not God. Jehovah is the One True God.
