bonneymadd i don't think that stoning you children to death for disobaying you is the best way to get the most out of life, and i most certainly think that god or no god you have every right to be uncomfortabe with that, 'if you eye offends you then pluck it out' just another thing the bible says and i'm led to beleive that plucking you're eyes out is rather uncomfortable.

hey dude

just a thought

we've been given books since we were young till we're adults and when we get old

after all that primary educations - we are able to read and write
after all that secondary educations-we're even more capable of reading and writng and even saying about other things
we go to engineering/medical school - we are able to do of what we've learned

After all that religious school or reading holy books ......
WHAT ARE WE REALLY SUPPOSE TO BE ABLE TO DO?
SAY YOU.. SAY ME..PROVE THIS...PROVE THAT
JOIN THE CRAZY SICKED JIHAD...
BE MISSIONARIES FOR NEW RECRUITMENT?
GO TO HEAVEN?

THE BOTTOM LINE IS....
WHAT ARE WE DOING....?
WHERE ARE WE ACTUALLY HEADING?

ARE'NT WE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HOLY AFTER READING A HOLY BOOK?
(funny thing is i got more holier after the sex book...ha..aha)

I am a Christian, but I do not associate myself with any religion. I do believe that the Bible is the literal truth, although some of the passages do not speak in literal form, but use symbols for example. I have a few books in the Old Testament yet to read, but not too many. I have read the New Testament four or five times. There are many things in the Old Testament that make me uncomfortable, but I have to remember that is how the culture was during that time period (example: sacrificing your own child, but stopped by God at the last minute).

I'm a born again Christian
I believe the Bible is the word of God
I read every day just about, and have done studies on the OT and the NT
I have no right to be uncomfortable with any of gods word, He made me, He made the world, He made the rules and we should all be grateful that we have a God to show us how we can get the most out of life.

I am a Christian
I believe that The Bible is inspired by The Holy Spirit. However, due to problems with translation, the use of poetic language and the use of colloquialisms which depend on cultural references, some meaning does have to be rediscovered. (For instance, when Zipporah touched Moses foreskin to his foot, foot is a euphemism for another part of his anatomy, the word translated as peace is, in Hebrew, Shalom which means peace, wholeness, health and prosperity as well).
I have read The Bible through a number of times, but concentrate on The New Testament.
I am uncomfortable with the knowledge that I cannot defend myself in a violent situation (I know what I must do, but am unsure if I have the nerve for it), and that I must sell all that I have. I intend to do the latter at some point when I move into community.

I'm Roman Catholic. I believe in both the literal and figurative truth of the bible. I try to read the bible once a year at Lent (and any time I feel like looking something up). The only aspect of my religion that makes me uncomfortable is how other people (both in my religion and outside) react about the bible and get hostile over the topic of religion.

Christian with some pagan practices mixed in to satisfy my own idiosyncrasies in honoring of my ancestors Religious Belief Systems.

THE HOLY BIBLE is a Rule and Guide of Faith but I personally don't take everything contained therein as literal.

I study THE HOLY BIBLE but have not read it " cover to cover " in one sitting.

Yes there are certain aspects to the basic Christian Belief System which I find uncomfortable. one example is when the Christian European " invaders " came to Turtle Island ( United States ) why they treated The People of over 500 Nations the way they did.

I believe Jesus is who He says He is, that the Holy Bible is real and that everything it contains is "God breathed." I do read the Bible on a daily basis to help me live a better life (not perfect). I live by faith and faith alone - that Jesus gave his life for me and I have God's forgiveness now and can go to Heaven when I die. I have assurance of this.
