Will they keep an eye on him or restrain him for..how long...24 hours?

A restraining order is a piece of paper. They dont follow the person around, they just inform them that for however long the period is that person is not allowed to come within a certain distance of u.
If that person does violate te restraining order you call the police and they will arrest him, maybe let him go with a warning the first time or he will sleep in the cells for a nite.
Now if he is he violates the restraining order with the intention to do harm to you or your property or your family then they will arrest him. You will have to press charges and get a lawyer and its just paperwork and money.

If he breaks what ever the limits are on the restraining order, they will advise him the first time and escort him away, if he comes back and defies the restraining order then they will arrest him. Of course he can bond out and come back, but if the police come back and arrest him again, then they will contact a judge and there will be no bail posted.

the cops will inform the person to stay away from you until you drop the restraining order and if they violate it they can go to jail. its not 24 hrs, its as long as you want.
