No! Bipolar disorder is a chemical imbalance caused by enviromental and/or psychological factors. It has nothing to do with a defeciency in vitamin B12.

Btw, a defeciency in vitamin B12 is extremly hard to have since lots of foods have vitamins in them either naturaly or by being enriched.

I'm no expert on BP, but I know a lot about depression. Since the two disorders share some similarities, I might be able to offer some ideas. Since most mental disorders involve a neurotransmitter imbalance, it's quite important to be getting the proper nutrients. A good diet and exercise program helps a lot in this regard. Vitamin B12 is just one of many important nutrients for proper neurotransmitter function. Poor diet can lead to all kinds of physical and mental problems. So keep this in mind because there are no simple cures, just hard work and sticking to it.

Encyclopedia of Natural Medicine discusses low-vanadium diet, and recommends a high potency multiple vitamin & mineral pill, 10-25 grams of phosphatidylcholine a day, 3-5 grams vitamin c, and 400-800 iu vitamin e daily. Avoid phosphatidylcholine if depression occurs.
See the book for details.
