Atheists say there is no evidence for god because they're given to hyperbole. What they mean is that the evidence for the existence of any gods is so poor that it is irrational to conclude that they do exist.
That, by the way, does include the Bible. The evidence of a book is only as good as its apparent correspondence with reality. As St. Augustine said:
"It not infrequently happens that something about the earth, about the sky, about other elements of this world, about the motion and rotation or even the magnitude and distances of the stars, about definite eclipses of the sun and moon, about the passage of years and seasons, about the nature of animals, of fruits, of stones, and of other such things, may be known with the greatest certainty by reasoning or by experience, even by one who is not a Christian. It is too disgraceful and ruinous, though, and greatly to be avoided, that he [the non-Christian] should hear a Christian speaking so idiotically on these matters, and as if in accord with Christian writings, that he might say that he could scarcely keep from laughing when he saw how totally in error they are."

It's simply what they believe. Why do some religions say women can't wear jewelry, makeup, or that if you drink, smoke, dance, you will go to hell? I am not an atheist, but how each religion has a different interpretation of the bible has long been a mystery to me. This causes confusion, so I can understand why some will believe there is no evidence.

jack bauer, i watched your video. i still dont know if there is a god. if i was an atheist, watching the video would definately not change my mind. since watching this video, im leaning more towards atheism.
how does two people dancing prove your god exists? how can you say that if this video doesnt change atheists' minds, that you dont know what will?
all of the words flying up the screen do not convince me. most likely, they are just words from the bible. i dont see the proof of your god's existance.

people misunderstand atheist. Billy Grahm said that in the Psalms were it says a fool in his heart says there is no God in the Hebrew it says that there is no God for me. i have understood most atheist to be very angry with God. Steve Brown said that many of them have had something bad happen to them when they were young. But atheist bring up evidence because they think it can stump most Christians. They deep down know God exists. as Billy Grahm has said there are no atheist in fox holes

In my opinion the bible is no more evedince than word of mouth. how do you know that the bible isn't some crazy novel that some weirdo wrote years and years ago to entertain himself and it wasn't found and taken seriously? The bible is just a book. It's not proof of anything!

The bible was written by men, history shows us that writers always change the facts to make certain aspects better than they were. Therefore we cannot beleive the bible is in fact:
A - The truth
B - Is full of facts

I guess they just want to hold on to their ways. To surrender to some-one is always a difficult decision for some people . And they have free-will, God did not create robots. But there will come a day when everyone will need God atheists or not.
