Wash him with a pet approved shampoo and don't spray anything on him. There is nothing nicer than puppy smell.

If you don't like the smell of dogs then why on earth did you get a puppy? Dogs stink of dog - that's how they're supposed to smell. If you don't like it, don't get a dog.
Don't torture the poor thing by spraying it with some crap that to it's sensitive sense of smell will be sickeningly strong. At the absolute most give it a bath with dog-specific shampoo, but nothing else.
It's a living creature - not your fashion accessory.

If your Puppy smells then that can be attributed to Diet!
Meat is not necessarily the best food for a Puppy!
Try veggie options?, Brush his Teeth?
Maybe there is Herbal Spray(Something More Natural rather than chemical based)
Too Much washing a Dogs coat will limit it shine and its abiliity to repel water

Do you not like his smell, then try bathing him first and give him a good old fashioned rub down and then let him run round the garden to dry himself. If he is too young to bathe, just leave him he will soon lose his puppy smell.

I got a chemical-free natural herbal flea powder at the health food store once. It didn't do squat for fleas but it smelled awesome! Didn't seem to bother the dog.
