Whether or not a program shows up in your system tray is usually an optional setting. For all I know, you could have a dozen anti virus programs running. Or none.
Of course, you should have one anti virus program installed and running. If you're not sure if you do, look for things like Macafee and Norton in your start menu. Those are popular ones.
