Rome is the city of 7 hills.

Rev 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet colored beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

Rev 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

A woman is a church btw. Hos 3:1, 2 Cor 11:2, Jer 6:2.

Email me if you want more, its not just a verse taken at random from the Bible, there is whole chapters devoted to it, and no point brought out in the verses points to any other power.

This is explained within Daniel 9:26b-27:

26b ... And the people of the prince who is to come
Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.
The end of it shall be with a flood,
And till the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week;
But in the middle of the week
He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering.
And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate,
Even until the consummation, which is determined,
Is poured out on the desolate.”

Verse 26b refers to the "people" who destroyed "the city and the sanctuary." This is undoubtedly a direct reference to the destruction of the Second Temple in 70 AD. As history documents, this destruction was at the hands of the Roman Empire. Therefore, the reference to "the people of the prince who is to come" tells us the SAME nationality of people who destroyed the Temple will produce the Antichrist: the Italians.

And if there is any doubt whatsoever that this "prince" is the Antichrist, we are told this prince will establish "a covenant" with many for one week (7 years); in the middle of the "week," (3 1/2 years), he will break that covenant.

The Pope is NOT the Antichrist. "Kendal" proposes the Antichrist is somehow the same as the "Whore of Babylon" of Rev. 17. However, we are specifically told this "Whore" is a CITY, not a person, in Rev. 17:18: "And the woman whom you saw is that great CITY which reigns over the kings of the earth." (See also Zechariah 5:5-11; "Shinar" was the Hebrew word for Babylon). It is true Rome has long been referred to as the City built on 7 hills; however, this city and the Antichrist are not one and the same.

Peace.

Read Revelation and Daniel. I believe it has something to do with the beast that is seen rising up. The symbolism. What was Rome's symbol?
Some think a Pope will be the false prophet because the world will be under a one world religion ( must worship the beast, must have mark to buy and sell).

The office of the Pope is very influential...when he talks , everyone listens.

It's said that Rome will rise again, people assume that it would be someone from there. I personally thing it could possibly be Bill Clinton, he was wounded and healed and he would love to be the first world ruler. If this happens then you know whats up. He fits the ideas of the Antichrist so well, alot of people would actually follow him to Hell blindly just as they do now.

As far as the pope goes it'll be the next pope Peter the Great, it is said that the church will fall during his time.

*cries* I had a whole in-depth explanation written up for you, and when I went to submit it, Yahoo asked for my pw, and my response was gone.

I'll nutshell it.

Danel chp 2 and 7, Revelation 13 and 17.

Note the similiarities of the statue in the dream with the beasts in the vision in Daniel. Note the similiarities of the statue and the beasts with the beast of the sea of Revelation.

Everything points to Rome, except the feet/toes, and the horns (from Daniel). Those point to something like Rome. The beast is described as having 7 heads, meaning 7 hills (Rome is the only city that is known worldwide as the City on Seven Hills). The Western European Union is a military alliance in the EU, comprised of 10 members. 3 of them (France, Spain, and Germany) are unusually close...

In Revelation, the harlot's beast is comprised of all the beasts prior to the 'feet and toes'. The EU may expand into Iraq and Iran (Babylon and Medeo-Persia).

The symbology surrounding the EU is this :
http://nextcrusade.com/eu.html - EU Parliment was designed like the Tower of Babel (from Babel, we get the name Babylon).
http://members.aol.com/cogwriter/EUpic.jpg - Europa riding the bull (akin to the harlot riding the beast... not exact, but then, if it was, it practically be shouting, "HEY! I'M FULFILLING BIBLICAL PROPHECY!").

Note these maps :
http://europa.eu/abc/maps/index_en.htm - map of EU
http://www.roman-empire.net/maps/empire/extent/rome-modern-day-nations.html - map of Roman empire

The EU comprises of a good sized chunk of what was once the Roman Empire.

The feet of the statue are iron mixed with clay, and though they mingle together, they do not adhere to one another. People of EU can freely mingle, however recently the EU attempted to draft a constitution that would join them together, and it failed.

The little horn comes up from the beast (that is Rome), but the harlot who rides the beast is the EU (a rider is not just along for the ride, but guides the beast they ride).

However, the harlot is drunk from the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. This only applies to Rome (unless some future holocaust of Christians occurs).

Note, however, that the treaty that started the EU was signed in Rome, and the failed attempt to create a constitution was also done in Rome (under the watchful eye of a statue of Pope Innocent).

The EU is founded in Roman concepts, and yet, it is not Rome.

I hope this gives you something to ponder. I'm gonna go off and cry some... spent 3 hours typing that answer... T_T lol.

I don't know what the christians believe.

The Muslims believe that the anti-christ will be from among the jews.

The anti-christ will be permitted to appear before the end of time. He will first appear in the East. He will be followed by seventy thousand Jews. He will claim to be a prophet, then a lord. Only the most ignorant of men will follow him; the righteous and those guided by Allah will reject him.

As I am not a Christian, I do not believe in your Antichrist. But, if you are hinting that it is this Pope-----I will not argue with you.

Pope could never be an anti christ since he accept the father and son. Nither Europe nor Rome is the place from where anti christ comes.
Sirya would be the place from where the antichrist come.

Daniel 8

1In the third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.

2And I saw in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by the river of Ulai.

3Then I lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the other, and the higher came up last.

4I saw the ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but he did according to his will, and became great.

5And as I was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his eyes.

6And he came to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and ran unto him in the fury of his power.

7And I saw him come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.

8Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.

9And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.

10And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.

11Yea, he magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily sacrifice was taken away, and the place of the sanctuary was cast down.

12And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.

13Then I heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be trodden under foot?

14And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.

15And it came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.

16And I heard a man's voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel, make this man to understand the vision.

17So he came near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be the vision.

18Now as he was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but he touched me, and set me upright.

19And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.

20The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.

21And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king.

22Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power.

23And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.

24And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.

25And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without hand.

26And the vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou up the vision; for it shall be for many days.

27And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.
