I really like the Brits and I consider them good allies to have, but I keep seeing assertions that "America is always late for wars", and that "America was'nt necessary to defeat Germany", that Russia and I suppose England had the situation in hand.

Bill, I don't know where you read or heard that utter nonsense, but its totally false...
All, and I mean ALL of Europe (including England) would have fallen to the axis powers if the US had not intervened...
The French fell to their knees the moment Germany invaded and the Netherlands were overwelmened by force...
NO ONE was capable of stopping Hitler till the US entered the war....
I suggest that those who have tried to fill your hear with pure crap should maybe drop their wacky weed and pick up a book on WW11...
That is, if they have the capability of knowing how to read...!

On the WW2 front-I find the American Aspersion of "We Helped you Guys win WW2!"
I find comments like that offensive!

Yeah, they can't have it both ways, can they? Yes, the Nazi party was on their way to being defeated, because they made the same mistake Napoleon made, in attacking Russia during winter. However, how many more would have been ruthlessly slaughtered in the concentration camps if we had NOT stepped in? Would Japan have surrendered? Would Italy? I doubt it.

Have you read any real history? Try find out how many American dead there were in WW2 compared to the Russians. BTW, I'm sick of my countrymen dying due to a family feud between the Bush clan and their former business partners, Saddam Hussein and the Bin Ladens'. I'm also sick of our troops in the Black Watch having to bail you guys out when you start sh*tting your pants (Northern Iraq).
