Muslims get upset over silly things. i remember years ago a women was told by her local council to remove ornaments of pigs from her front window because muslims were being offended. And as for burning an effergy of the pope and stabbing a nun just goes to show how childish these idiots are.

I don’t know what to do or say.
I’m in a pickle, people why when it comes to the reactions of Muslims everybody is intolerant while Muslims had tolerated a lot?

A year didn’t pass since the incidence of the offensive cartoons published by the Danish and some European press, and now the Pope who I totally respect offends Islam and prophet Mohamed -PBUH- well Muslims tolerance have limits too.

If Muslims offend Christians or people from other faiths in anyway either in a civilized or extreme manner they are stigmatized as savages or when they are offended and react either in a civilized or extreme manner they are stigmatized as savages.

Any action either positive or negative done by Muslims is always stigmatized as a savage action!!!
Why the entire world is so biased when it comes to Islam.
Am starting to feel that since the World War 2 was over and the biggest threat to liberties and freedom “NAZISM” was defeated then the cold war ending by the collapse of the USSR and the ideology of Communism the whole West was looking for a new enemy and they found it.
Am one of the optimists -who are few by the way- am always looking for channels of contact and bridges of communication but I always find myself facing a dead end why?

there is quite little that the Pope can do devoid of attracting interest; he's between the main seen figures interior the worldwide. He prays very in many cases. i understand that he has his very own inner maximum chapel interior the Vatican the place he meditates and prays privately on a daily foundation. So i don't think of that the Holy Father's purpose grew to become into to "merely be viewed".

I would agree that the general reaction from the Islamic world has been too harsh, but that said, somebody in the Pope's position should at least think before he speaks. Like it or not, the Pope is a political position in 2006, and politicians get hammered when they stick their foot in their mouth.

Also, whether you think he should apologize for his comments or not, you can hardly blame Muslims for not liking the apology he gave. He apologized for the "reaction" of the Islamic world to the comments, not for making them! That's like me apologizing for the fact that you didn't like it when I beat the crap out of you, but not for the fact that I did! Pretty insincere. If he doesn't feel the need to apologize, I can respect that, but don't offer a B$ one like that...

No. The pope made a big mistake in burning the bridges that Pope John Paul II built. He is a complete **** at best.

As with everything else, of course they did. They will use ANYTHING to justify causing a commotion. I don't know why we have to feel like we are walking on egg shells when it comes to this religion. I don't volunteer my feelings when it comes up in conversation, but if I am asked, I do say just what I feel.

Yeah, they all say it is a peaceful religion; people who were neighbors or acquaintances of the men who hijacked the plane said they were nice!! Personally, I would never have anything to do with any of them, because you can't trust them. How do I know who is wearing a bomb?

The irony of using violent action to protest being called violence is not lost on me.

In a related topic, do Muslims wear muslin?

they OVER reacted!...cmon! the Pope never said anything insulting...it was just a quote from someone a long time ago that he stated...it was not even close to insult...look...if the Pope would have wanted the Christians to hate Muslims, we could have the flag of UK in Iran...Muslims take things toooo seriously...a little insult means cutting the heads off of people...a religion of peace?...its not the Muslims to be hated but Islam...love the sinner...hate the sin...

I tink the truth is that despite their large numbers, Muslims are not really confident about their religion. So they take every opportunity to defend it against any perceived criticism to justify themselves and to attract worldwide attention to Islam. Conversely they criticise and mock Christian teaching and the Bible. I think we should stop fearing how they are going to react and be far more frank about their beliefs and what they say about ours, and do this regularly, provided of course that it involves sensible criticism and not just insults whch is what some angry people do.

The pope is a tool. His comments deserved the reaction they got. A man who heads an organisation that condones child abuse and smuggled Nazi war crminals to South America at the end of WW2 should be very careful before he saying anything.
