Someone sprayed my kitten in the face with a chemical.
She claims it was a flea spray, but it smaells like Raid or something with a lot of chemicals.
The kitty has been alive all night altho it has been touch and go. He is mostly asleep now with steady breathing,
he just can't wake up.
And when he does for a few seconds he has lost his motor skills and drags himself around making a horrible meowing.
I recently dropped some water drops and then some weak milk drops down his throat and he swallows it okay,
but doesn't wake up.
I live on disability and it is cash up front in this town to go to a vet, so I have to treat him myself.
What can I do,
I am sick and heartbroken.
Thank you.

The old adage: The solution to pollution is dilution. Wash your cat off with luke warm water and get any remaining chemicals off. Without knowing what toxin was being used on your cat, it is hard to look for a remedy. I would make your cat as comfortable as possible, keep you cat hydrated with water and slowly introduce food back into the diet as your cat wakes up. Calling a vet might be of use. Finding out what your cat was sprayed with would be best. If it was flea spray it most likely contains Premethin. Good luck and best wishes for you and your cat.

Wipe as much of the chemical as you can from the kitten's fur. He will try to groom himself as soon as he is the tinyest bit alert. You don't want him licking more stuff off his fur. It is too late to try to get him to vomit. The kitten needs to stay hydrated. Whiska makes a "cat Milk", avaiable at walmart or your grocery store. Also try a little wet food. The wet food could be mixed with Gurber baby rice food which is easy to digest. Put it on the tip of your finger and let him suck/lick it off. Any food or liquid offered should be warm, not cold. Use shredded newspaper, not a clumping cat litter, in his litter box, as the clumping type will stick to his feet and he will try to lick that off. Call your local vet and explain the situation. Maybe they will offer help at low or no cost. Call the animal shelter. They may have some good advice or even a vet they recommend. You do need to know what exactly was sprayed on the kitten, and how much.

About the "someone" who sprayed the cat. If it was a young family member, you have a different issue that needs to be dealt with asap. If it was a neighbor, they will be responsible for the vet bills, and need to be reported to the police. You cat has been poisoned and this is not going to be easy.

While I am agnostic about most things, I do pray for animals. I hope your kitten, and you, will be okay.

IN THE ADDITIONAL DETAILS SECTION OF THIS QUESTION, PLEASE TELL US HOW THE KITTEN IS DOING.

Call the humane society or the ASPCA depending on where you live. The vet may make payment arragements with you. Please take the cat in now, thr suffering will kill this cat and it will go blind too. Make sure before you take it in to rinse the cat's eyes with warm, not hot distilled water, or any water if you don't have any distilled, just rinse, if the cat is breathing so badly, it may suffer til death, don't do this, if you can't afford to help the cat, call humane society for help, they sometimes help, even if it is to be put to sleep, the vet won't charge much if any, may even wave the office call. Don't make an apointment, just take it in now!!! This is an emergency. How could you let it suffer????? Horribile!

Try the RSPCA, they maybe about to help you out with a vet.

Ask the person who sprayed the kitten to provide the bottle of whatever they used.

Failing that contact the police and see what can be done about this person.

Cruelty to animals is a crime.

You'll probably need to rinse his face, eyes, nose, and mouth. When kids get poisoned like that, you're supposed to make them throw up to rid them of any ingested amt. Not sure how you could make a cat throw up tho. A teaspoon of mustard in a glass of milk works for people, but would probably be too harsh for a baby cat. Keep giving him water, maybe that will help flush it out of his system. Do not give him cow's milk- cats are unable to digest it.

You need to take your kitten to the vet ASAP. If you know who sprayed your kitten, make her pay for the vet bill. I would also call the police about the woman for cruelty to animals. There is no excuse for what she did.

NO NO NO. Flea drugs of ANY form are deadly to kittens below 12 weeks previous. deadly. they are in a position to be washed with break of day dish cleansing soap, yet it incredibly is all. once you are going to maintain them, and mama kitty is long previous, you will could bottle feed in the event that they are actually not weaned. which ability you will could take them to the vet. sturdy success.

That poor kitten! This is a prime example of why people that can not afford pets should not have them. That kitten needs a vet bad! Sell something, borrow, but the cat needs a vet.

i'd still call a vet or animal hospital and ask them over the phone and explain your situation, they might be able to work out a payment plan or something.

Good luck and i hope things work out for the best.
