take away is always easier....and as for fresh is best....it is only best if you cook it properly and clean it well...with all the chemicals, steroids and pesticides used nothing is best anymore

Fresh food has the most vitamin and mineral count, so yes, it is best. Of course there is one food only in the whole world that increases it's protein after it is cooked. It is the wonderful soybean! It has the best properties of any food that a person can eat and is the basis on any vegetarian diet, but you don't have to be a vegetarian to eat it or enjoy it and the wonderful health properties it will give you.
Most fast food is starch, salt and fat! McDonal;ds for instance, a person having a diet of mostly that wil end up with gallstones and heart attack even though they look to be in shape, it is not good for the heart! Always wash your fresh vegetables before eating them, and make sure they are fresh. Darn, I can't wait to get my garden going up North when we move, I used to have a nice one here. Of course it is easier to grab a take out, and faster, but I wouldn't do it often, if you want to stay healthy. If you can, try to make your food or lunch or dinner or supper the day before and freeze it on your day or days off and you won't have to worry about what you are going to have while you are on the job. I will say another thing, if you are going to be on te run, go to the health supply store and get raw dried fruits and nuts and other things you can make and eat this on the run. It is healthy and you don't have to worry about heating it up. It won't weigh you down and won't get you fat, and will give you energy!!!! Don't forget the fresh food, banannas. if you are a bread eater, get or make quality bread, oatmeal, multigrain and use peanut butter on it or make something for yourself if you are a meat eater before hand. It won't hurt to eat it at room temp. " White meat Turkey burgers.

It's a matter of convenience and what you're willing to settle for...

Canned veggies are easy to store and prepare but least fresh... frozen veggies are much better than canned but have to be stored in the freezer... fresh veggies are a little better than the frozen variety but have to be bought when available and don't last as long in storage...

As for nutritional values, the difference is there but isn't as great... the biggest difference is in flavor and texture...

Of course its easier to buy something premade, and sometimes you don't have a lot of choices. But most grocery stores and fast food places now offer choices for salads--these are freshly made everyday and a good alternative.

Takeaways can be fresh too. Salads, apples, pears, bananas, celery, carrots, etc.. And all those items can be eaten raw.

whats easy isn't always whats right. fresh foods sound like they'd be better for us, but i think that if i make it through life with a functioning body, i'll be happy.
