Put the XP CD into the CD drive
Boot the computer
It should boot off the CD and begin the Windows install
After you do the F8 to agree, it will ask you about partitions and formating
Normally you want to let it create one parition using the entire hard drive and then format it with NTFS
Give the OK, and it will format the drive and complete the XP install for you.

Over ride your win2000 os. just put your XP cd in and install it If it gives the option to upgrade then use that if not do a full install
If that does not work you might have to format the drive and install Xp

If you have all the files backed up, just install it as you would any software! Make sure you select not to save your old file system! If you do, you will end up with two partitions!
