Is the Peugeot 206 really a "girls" car? i'm thinking of getting one, but just wanna know what people think,

Its not a girls car.
Its a car for anyone that knows nothing about cars, and doesn't know anyway other than looks to tell a good one from a poor one.
Don't do it - there are other good looking cars with better performance, ride, handling, durability, and pretty much any other car of similar age & size apart from the Clio has a more comfortable driving position (unless you're looking at a left-hand-drive 206, or Clio).

Why do you think that, The 206 is mainly driven by family people and young students of all sexes. If you like the car well drive it. I drove a friends 206 for many miles in the U.K. whilst I owned a Saab. I didn't find it any more economical than the Saab, not us comfortable, but a great car from A-B, easy to work and understand, a bit tight for space in the engine compartment, with that spare wheel on top of the engine, one item that bugged me. But go for the car that you like or get a good offer for. just check it over or get someone who knows about cars. nothing worse than having a great looking car that brakes down every time you go out. That is a bad image. A well looked after Ford you can't beat, they have a great engine, But my favourite an old Saab, safe and reliable,

They do make an automatic, until 2003 there was a traditional auto, and there is now an auto with tiptronic. This operates in normal automatic mode or can be overidden to allow you to upshift or downshift. There are a few things to bear in mind with an automatic though. They are slower, and they use more fuel. They will also cost a large premium over the manual when bought at a dealer (which will not be recovered at resale time). This basically means that they wil cost more than the obvious purchase price (due to depreciation and additional fuel consumption) The 207cc has just come out, so that may be worth a look. It will also mean that 206ccs are cheaper to buy, especially as dealers may have stock they wish to get rid of. At the moment, they can still be bought brand new.

I have a dark silver peugeot 206 which my hubby also drives. I don't see as a 'girls' car at all. My mate's son has just bought one .....he wouldn't be seen driving a girlie car!

Hundreds of thousands of 206s were sold when in prodution.
Not all to women or girls. I know loads of blokes with them. really daft when a car cant be unisex because a fair number of women and girls own them. Pick a masculine colour or spec. I'd have one today, so would my brother and a few of our male friends.

It all depends on how you want to see yourself in it... If you like the drive then don't worry about what others may say, I personally don't see cars as girly or macho I'll drive what ever takes me from A to B... Good Luck!!!

it is a girlies car, mechanics and electrics nothing brilliant, they sell them because they look pretty!
