Hi

You cannot pick up French terrestial broadcasts with a UK TV because it is a different system.

However, you can use a British TV in France via a SCART lead through a satellite decoder.

And it works fine !

Whereas we in the UK use a colour system called PAL, the French use a system called SECAM - Sequential Couleur Avec Memoire (Sequential Colour with Memory). The two are not compatible, so you would need either a dual system tv or a new one that can handle SECAM. The frequency of the power supply is the same in France as in UK.

Buy a French TV, the system is different. They have PAL but the colour system is different; nothing you can do but get a new set.
