You need to hide the spoons in the house! Being Diabetic and overweight go hand in hand. Some people get their weight under control, and are able to come off insulin altogether. I'm not a doctor, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night! Good luck!

Eating will not lower blood sugar. An insulin injection/dosage of fast acting insulin like Novolog or Humolog should start to lower blood sugar in about fifteen minutes.
Also, excersize is a good way to lower blood sugar, as long as there are no ketones, and there is already insulin in the body.

Check with your doctor and dietician to be sure of what types of sweeteners you can use. Not all diabetics have the same type of diabetes and individual needs will vary.
