Good luck, sounds like a awful situation. I can't help thinking that the Council should have plans in place to rehouse and support the community - I do hope so.

Council properties have diverse repairing policies to non-public tenancies - via fact council ones are long-term. a minimum of re-adorning could make it your place for some years or many years to return, you do not prefer to be residing with the previous tenants disgusting decision or perhaps worse, some thing chosen by potential of the council via fact it is affordable :)
