JR I'm fairly sure she is refering to AMATUER racing, which is just fun for owner & hound, and the dogs go home to sleep on the bottom of the bed. If your dog does well you might win a 99 cent squeak toy- heck of motivation for abuse hugh?
Unfortunatly while I could send info for the US I can't for England

Umm had a brainstorm I ran into one of the people form this orginzation , which actually in a dog finding network http://www.lurcher.org/lsuk/ , but she raced maybe you can make a connection through them

having a mixed sight hound may limit your choices depending on the club. I would look for lure coursing groups in your area or contact your local Greyhound rescue group.

Contact your local kennel club. Your area's lurcher club. Lure-coursing group.

You'll be limited by having a mutt/mongrel.

Greyhound racing is a very hard sport. Please contact greyhound rescue for the real facts that happen to the dogs and what the equipment does to their frail bodies.

Find a greyhound club or rescue Im sure there is someone else that would love to let theirs run with yours but not actual racing for sport.
