A temporary solution to a problem. The intention is to fix a bad situation promptly with whatever will make it stop being a problem, and then work out a permanent solution later.

Interim relief is granted by a court to aleviate any immediate loss or to grant a remedy in lieu of a full judgement being made. The claimant will have proved their case but the judge may require more time to make a full decision thus the need for a reserved judgement. This might be because there is a lot of information to go through before a full award is made.

a temporary court ordered action to prevent further loss by the
plaintiff...usually the court has to believe the defendant is going to be found ultimately responsible for the plaintiff's loss.
