big bang and evolution are theories .. god existence is also a theory .. why you take first two theories as facts ?.. but do not take the last one , even not as a theory .. what makes you behave like that ..?

Science has proving that the big bang couldn't have happened, now they are trying to find new theory's from quantum physics. Most scientist actually believe in God.

Actually the brightest of intellects recognize the presence of God, I guess because they see the big picture were most ignorant people don't take the time to do so and just assume everything. I'm glad to be one of them. It's always been hardest to me to understand ignorance, it's like they don't really care about anything but at the same time want to be a part of it.

But they are to closed minded, they need to open up and believe the possibility of everything until there is evidence saying other wise. If you believe nothing then you'll always believe nothing.

In order to be considered valid, a theory must be falsifiable - i.e. we must be able to construct a test which is capable of disproving the theory. If no such test is possible, even in principle, then it's not a valid theory.

Example of a valid theory: "Birds are descended from dinosaurs". If palaeontologists found verifiable evidence of fossil birds from before the ancestors of dinosaurs existed, then this would prove the theory false (because birds could not be descended from dinosaurs if they already existed before dinosaurs existed).

Example of something that is not a valid theory: "Demons are responsible for disease". There is simply no possible observation or test which could disprove this idea - Even if you show that bacteria are present when the disease is present and absent when the disease is absent, and you show how the bacteria affect the tissues, your demon-believer will still be able to say "Ah but it's the demons which cause the bacteria to do these things". The idea is not testable because any and all possible observations can be claimed to be consistent with the involvement of demons in disease. Since the idea is not testable, it is not a valid theory.

The crucial difference then, is that with a valid theory, there must be at least one necessary prediction - i.e. something that will necessarily be true if the theory is true, but false otherwise.

Belief in a god falls into the second category, i.e. it is not a valid theory, because there is no test or objective observation which could disprove the existence of a god - Any and all possible observations about the world can be claimed to be consistent with the existence of a god. Indeed, believers make a virtue of declaring that their god cannot be subject to test or experiment. He will not be pinned down, they say - You have to have faith.

So, belief in the existence of gods is not a theory by definition, and even *by the believers' own admission*.

The difference lies in the definition of the word "theory." A scientific theory is a set of ideas that are not 100% certain but have sufficient evidence and review to be understood as factual. When you say "god" is a theory you are using the layman's definition of the word which basically means guess. Where is the body of evidence and peer reviewed journal entries for the existence of god?

The misconception of the word "theory" in the scientific context by most creationist & ID types is so staggering it makes me wonder if they even payed attention in science class at all... or perhaps they were brainwa.... home schooled and denied a proper education. It's saddening to me.

Well I am neither atheist nor a scientist. Big bang theory can not be proven whereas evolution can be proven. The theory of God so to say . The existence of god is beyond the science. Everything can not be proven by science. E.g. Common beliefs. They have to be believed. The existence of god is only to be felt.

The big bang and evolution theories have scientific evidence to back them up. The "God did it" theory does not. The "theory" that God created the universe is just as valid as the theory that Darth Vader created the universe.

God's existence is not a theory. It is a vague conjecture.

It is not a theory because:

1) It lacks definitions. What is God? The definition is too vague.
2) It lacks falsifiability. There is no test you could create to demonstrate God's existence or non-existence.
3) It lacks evidence. Theories are based on observation. God is just an empty claim.

I am not an atheist. Nevertheless, I must admit that god is a concept that cannot be sensed physically. The big bang is not considered as a fact. Evolution is, because many finds confirm it. God cannot be proven so science cannot consider his existence as a fact, but cannot rule out his existence either. You know, it is equally hard scientifically to prove that something is as to prove that something is not. And unless you prove something is not or cannot be done, you cannot claim it as a fact. So scientifically, atheism is not based, just as well as believing in god.

I HAVE READ SOME OF THE ANSWERS REGARDING THEORIES ABOUT GOD AND HERE WE GO....

FIRST...are There more dimensions than three as we can see ? in maths we calculate n th dimensions..and since we can only see three dimensions we are really ignorant about any more dimensions ( accept it )

SECOND....what happens when we are dead ? we do go to another dimension. u need theories i m giving u references where these have been studied..a) Life after Life by Dr. Raymond Moody 2) Many Lives Many Masters By Dr. Brian Weiss 3) The site of Edgar cayce.

I hope this gives ample material to accept it as a theory at least.

Please explain the "Theory of God" and provide evidence that supports your theory.

There is credible evidence to support the "big bang," most notably the observable expansion of the visible universe. There is also credible evidence to support the theory of evolution. There is no such evidence to support the "God Theory."

As nondescript (below) points out, God's existence is not a theory, it is speculation & opinion for which there is no credible evidence. Valid scientific theories rely on evidence, not speculation.

Non-existence cannot be and does not need to be proven. Non-existence is assumed until existence is proven.

God is not a theory but a fact, a truth. Logic dictates that there is
a first cause which most of us choose to call God. A simple study of logic and philosophy will demonstrate that it is impossible to defend an absolute negative(Atheism). It is simply
amazing to me how many people continue to profess the notion
of no god. Apparently Chesterton was right when he said, "We
have educated ourselves into imbecility", or was it Muggeridge?
Anyway you get the picture...
