My good friend recently came back from a 5 week trip with a tan. She's also had pale white skin which never tans, even if she was in the sun 12 hours a day. She's clearly had a spray tan but when I asked her "Nice tan, doe's it come off in the wash?", she replied "Nope, can't scrub this one off, it's a real tan!". Even though it's clearly isn't. And even though she knows her through and through and can sense when she's lying.
She said the lie without even having to think about it! How come girls can do this without even flinching? Is it because they end up believing what they are saying?

it varies in seriousness. from my own experience women i have know have flagrantly lied about things just as a habit - and will continue to lie even when caught. going out on a limb it could be because of evolution (everything is lol) where the men would not lie and would just end up killing each other, but women had to be subtle to survive

admittably i know a few women who can lie without flinching, such as my friend who pretended not to know how their family vehicle had a bump on it. reason being , she knew her husband would go balistic. Just for the record, I would own up, as everyone can make a mistake.
IF your lady friend was telling a porkie, it could be that you have kind of insulted her, by using a sarcastic remark . instead you were meant to tell her how well she looks, which is what an intelligent gentleman would have said. now you were making her feel like a fake, and she just wanted to get over it.also note that IF she did lie , that it was over something trivial. This begs me to bring up the fact, that many men (note that i did not generalize) , are so efficient at lying about things which matter(need I give examples), that it seems they must have gone to special acting classes.
don't be disillusioned by your friend, give her and other women a break.

Because people probably go on about her being so pale and mock her for never being able to get a tan, when it comes to beauty & whether a girl looks good or not SOME men are so cruel and she probably just wanted you to think better about her. (I know you probably don't care as she is just a friend, but if she was to come back from a sunny holiday porcelain white she would feel ugly) Its only a white lie.

I think it depends on the person! Many a man is a good liar too! She just doesn't want to admit that she couldn't get a tan during her trip! Some women are funny about stuff like that.

i asked my partner for a response to this question, she said' how do you know he's not making it up', i replied 'why would he' she replied how do you know he is a he. got me there.
so my response to your obviously truthful question, would be ......
we get male walter mitties why not female versions, anyway the tan will wash off eventually proving your point.
and besides she thought about it before she went on her trip, or at least when she got back, maybe it was to show everyone she had been away, probaly because all her friends realise what a liar she is, and they would'nt believe her without a tan. regards LF

oh get over yourself! So she may have told a little white lie about her tan! You cant then justify branding women pathological liars!
And for those who actually are - they probably learnt it from the men that suffer from the condition

i have never told a lie in my life! lol thats how easy it is for us to lie.
na, only kidding, this lie isn't hurting anyone, i suppose it makes her look silly as everyone knows its out of a bottle. i dont tan at all, even out of a bottle makes me go all patchy, it looks so fake.
could she be embarrassed she cant tan and just wants to be brown like everyone else with a tan.

She proberly thouight about this lie on holiday, maybe she was emabarrassed because she didnt get a tan on holiday so thats why she got a spray on, and shes already told the lie and doesnt wanna go back on it, dont worry it'll come back and hit her in the ***

The same thing could be said about men!! You can't generalise like that!! Some women lie, some don't. Some men lie, some don't!

Who cares? If she's a good friend what are you botherd if its real or not? If this is what your like over a tan then maybe she said it so you wouldnt pester her over something else.
