It will depend on how he understands what you are going through.

If he is immature, shallow, and all about himself...yes - he will probably bail on you.

If he is mature and sensitive, he will probably keep things clean and orderly, remember the numbers that are important to you...and he will always try desparately to keep you smiling...even when you don't want to be made happy.

Depends how bad the OCD is.

My partner lines up cigarette butts in ashtrays, and that's noticeable.

Her eldest sons girlfriend taps the table 5 times before doing things, but that is something that I never noticed before I was told.

So depending on what your comuplsion is he may never need to know, and if he has a problem with it dump him for being a selfcentred, uncaring, pr1ck

It may be a bit difficult for him to deal with, but he won't break up with you if he is the right person.. The right person will be able to deal with your ocd and depression..

My advice would be to tell him (once you're ready) and let him do a bit of reading about it, it's important that he has a good understanding of your condition.

Good luck!

My partner has an OCD and some times its tough dealing with it but on the whole i just take things as they come, and treat things accordingly, but hes my best friend as well and i love him for what he is and we just get on with life, there are times when i have to take a tough line and times when a little sympathy and understanding goes a long way, but honesty is the best policy and if he really cares for you it shouldnt be a reason to dump you!

dont tell him and then when it happens a bout of depression and he asks whats wrong say you sometimes get depression until you are in a comfortable enough position to tell him no one knows everything about each other there is things my boyfriend dosent know about me that i just would prefere not to tell him even though ive been going out with him for a year and im very comfortable with him dont worry about it if hes worth it and likes you for who you are hell accept you with your baggage and everyone has some kind of baggage

If he really likes you, it won't bother him. You need to tell him what the symtoms are, and research every thing about OCD. I have a mild case, and seems not to bother anyone. Remember: Not telling him now, will effect trust levels when he finds out himself.

you cant change who you are. first of all, love yourself for who you are.
if u like someone, get to know them, and them you. when it feels 'right', i.e you feel he's mature to take the news, tell him. if he freaks, he's too immature and not worth being with. however, a lot of people dont understand. if u make it your job to explain what OCD is then they may come to terms with it. get a magazine article on it and show them, for instance.
if u find the right guy, it wont matter..
good luck : )

It really shouldn't make a difference. I didn't discover I had OCD till I had been with my Fiance about 4 years, we would just make fun of my odd habits, and laugh about it!

to move a relationship to the next level i think you should tell him as things like that will only push you apart. however that being said it could put more strain on your relatioship if you are not that serious about each other at the moment. it really depends on where you are in your relationship.

well depending on how bad you suffer from these then no it shouldnt affect him - I mean obviously if you're like a manic depressive then maybe it may be hard for him to take - but just explain to him that you may just need a little time to yourself and Im sure he'll understand.
