1st step: Make a "To Do" list
Write down things you have to do, then decide what to do at the moment, what to schedule for later, what to get someone else to do, and what to put off for a later time period

2nd step: Daily / weekly planner
Write down appointments, classes, and meetings on a chronological log book or chart. If you are more visual, sketch out your schedule. First thing in the morning, check what's ahead for the day. At night, check the next day's schedule. This will help you always go to sleep knowing you're prepared for tomorrow

3rd step: Long term planner
Use a monthly chart so that you can plan ahead.
Long term planners will also serve as a reminder to constructively plan time for yourself.

A lot of good suggestions already.
Try splitting your day up into small portions and then along with your 'to do' list you can work away for 1/2 hour on one thing, the next on another.
A lot of the time it is possible to get bored of long tasks such as three hours of Ironing. However, split the ironing up into smaller chunks and away you go, you might even find that you have time for other more fun things.

Here are some tips:
1. List down tasks you have to perform for the day
2. Prioritize them, either by importance or urgency
3. Start doing the most important/urgent, and continue down the list
4. There will be tasks that can be assigned. Identify these and assign them
