The people that are killed by the earthquake are the people who will never accept Christ as their Savior. God gives people chances over and over, and if they chose not to change their hearts then they will be destroyed.

It's a sign that they have arrived. God works in mysterious ways, dear! We will know all when that day comes, but the rapture will take place first, so the christians wont know till the get to heaven!
