Calvados is made in Normandy in France in a region also called Calvados, this is the only place that it can be made in this way and have the name Calvados on the label. The area is renowned for its apple orchards and dairy produce and calvados is made by distilling dry cider, and ageing it for at least 2 years, although a really good calvados is going to be at least 10 years old.
