Firstly, your question is so unjust. Islam never preached hegemony or arrogance, nor to Muslims was it an "invented religion". Islam preaches love and caring, and most importantly peace. Do not judge a religion by what its followers do. Besides, not all Muslims are bad. You will find good people and bad people in all religions.

Terrorism has no religion. Show me one religion in the world, be it Islam, Druze, Christianity, Juddaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Jainism, Zaroastrianism, Rastafarianism, Taosim, or Confucianism, that preaches terrorism. Can't you see that all what is happening around us is nothing but a dirty game of politics? Politicians and terrorist group leaders fabricate ideologies to justify all their wrong-doings. Never has been their a religion on earth that was abused so badly, unjustifyingly, and inhumanly as much as Islam was.

Final Note: I beg everybody out there to read and research about Islam from trusted sources to understand the beauty of this religion, and to realize the disturbing truth behind those dirty terrorist organizations who unrightfully speak in the name of all Muslims.

Islam teaches peace and love as any other religion does. But the difference lies in those who 'run' the religion. As far as Islam is concerned,they seem to be terrible fanatics and do not mind doing and preaching what Islam does not profess. Over the last few years I have not read about any Islamic leader who has stood firmly against the wanton killings all over the globe.
And pray, why is it that it is only Muslims who are coming up as terrorist everywhere?

Why can't Christianity live in peace with other religions? Do you even notice what Christians are doing out there? Or is it ok because they're Christians and the victims are not? Tell me, how is it different for a Christian to kill non-Christians or a muslim to kill non-muslims? There is no difference, both of them are murderers. The fact that there is a bunch of bad Christians and bad muslims out there doesn't mean they're all like that or that their actions are ok according to their religions.

ISLAM IS BASED ON THE TEACHINGS OF MOHAMMED IN THE SIXTH CENTURY. AFTER MOHAMMED EXPERIENCED THE LORD ALLAH AND WAS UNABLE TO EQUATE HIM TO ANYTHING LESSER THAN THE CREATIONAL COSMOS. OFCOURSE HE COULD NOT GET ENLIGHTENED ON HIS FULLNESS ,BUT WAS ABLE TO ONLY IDENTIFY THE INFINITY

BUT THINGS STARTED TO CHANGE IN THE SEVENTH CENTURY AND ISLAM BEGAN TO GET FOLLOWERS FROM NOOK AND CORNER OF ARAB WORLD,RULED BY JEWS AND CHRISTIANS.
BUT THE PREACHINGS OF THE HOLY BOOK OF QURAN IS NOT UNDERSTOOD IN ITS FULLNESS EVEN TODAY.
THE KINGS WHO RULED ARABIA STARTED SPREADING THEIR RELIGION THROUGHOUT THE DESERT LAND.
NORMALLY THE WAY IN WHICH MOHAMMED WANTED TO SPREAD THE GODS NATURE WAS BY JEHAD-THE HOLY WAR FOUGHT WITH LOVE FOR HUMANITY IE., BY READING AND UNDERSTANDING THE IDEOLOGY OF THE HOLY VERSES OFFERRED BY GOD HIMSELF TO MOHAMMED WHICH HE HAD INSCRIBED IN THE HOLY BOOK -THE QURAN. BUT HIS SUCCESSORS OR THE FOLLOWERS WHO DID NOT JOIN ISLAM TILL AFTER HIS DEATH FOUND IT EASY TO SPREAD THE RELIGION THROUGH WINNING AND CONQUERING OVER THEIR NEIGHBOURS AFTER BLOODSHED. AFETER ALL DURING THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD UPTO ALMOST 17TH CEDNTURY EVERY RELIGION WAS SPREAD THROUGH WARS AND FIGHTS ONLY OTHER THAN BUDDHISM, WHICH WAS SPREAD THROUGH PREACHINGS AND SERVICE. CHRISTIANITY ALSO STARTED TO SPREAD BY PREACHING ONLY AFTER LATE 15TH CENTURY.
IT IS NOT THAT ALL ARABS WANT WAR OR THEY ALL ARE
NOT GOOD , IT IS ONLY THE IMPATIENCE OR INTOLERANCE TO LISTEN OR REASON OUT. EVEN NOW THERE ARE LOT OF MODERATE MUSLIMS WHO WANNA PRACTICE HUMANITY BUT THEY ARE KEPT SUBMERGED BY THE WEAPON WEANING TERRORISTS. IT IS A PITY THAT SUCH A RELIGION BEING NAVIGATED TOWARDS THE END OF PEACE.
