1st. -> Go to you family doctor and have a check up and discuss your intention's.
2. -> If your gym involves free weight's use caution when excersizing alone, as it can be dangerous not having a spotter.
3. -> set a goal and be realistic about it.
4. -> Always stretch and warm-up prior to your workout.
5. ->Do you want strength and mass (size) Then low repetitions and heavy weight is the way to go aswell as a properly balanced diet. The areas to gain most mass are your Quads, Chest and Back muscles.
6. -> if you want to tone up and define your muscles then high repetitions and low weight is how you achieve this. (a proper diet also applies)
7. -> if your not familar with how the equipment works and what it does or how you use it... take a trip to the gym and inquire within. Don't be afraid to ask.
8. -> Try to keep a regular schedule of at least working out 3x a week for approx 20-30 minutes. (maybe 4x a week)
9. ->Plenty of rest! Yes you heard me right..... your body needs rest to repair and build muscle.
10. -> Stick with it! The first 3 months are the hardest because you will not see the results until around 6-8 weeks. (I've found it's more like 8-12 weeks in my personal experience.)
11. -> pick up a related magazine that is geared toward what your looking for. And it might even have articles related to the equipement your uncle has.
12. -> Ask your uncle if he is still around. It never hurts to ask. And as they say the only stupid question , is a question not asked.

Good luck and hope this gives you a guide line for you.

It depends upon what you want, Bulking Up or Strength? Any way you can download and read an ebook called "Train Smart".

1. Workout time should be a maximum of 45mnts.
2. Maximum 3 days a week.
3. Try to avoid injuries, keep proper form, warm up and stretch before going to the weights.
4. Nutritious food and plenty of water intake.
5. General medical examination is good before you start in a gym.
6. Squat, dead lift and bench press are more important than any other exercise.

Weight training may trigger asthma in some persons.

Ive just joined a gym say, 9 days back. the following will be handy:
1) Being Regular will help.
2) Good balanced diet.
3)Build stamina slowly & gradually increase the level of Excercising & weights.
4)Warming up in the beginning & stretch excercises ion the end .
5)Divide the excercise equipment into two. Do one set daily.
6)Plenty of fluids to be taken.
7)light snack 1 hour before Excercise is the routine. Best of Luck!

first thing you gotta do before starting workout is do streching exercise for 10 minutes after that take a deep breath and start working out..each time after lifting the weight drink some juice dont lift the weight if you are very tierd..after lifting weight first catch your breath and gain the energy you have waisted..after when you think its the right time to start lifting again than only start..first start with bench press and than lift up dumbles..after lifting weight you must do exercises like crunches and push ups..and always remember to get a nice physique you must do workout 2 hours a day..

Before you do anything, have a gp check you over blood pressure etc, and overal fitness. Dont want to start a regeime then have a heart attack. Then if your good to go, set a target for yourself, weight, body fat loss, more toned!

Once you know what you want, then read the rest ;)
