What is the truth? If 20 witnesses see something, they will all have a different story. All of them will be "true" even though they may conflict with each other. Telling someone that your version of the story is the only possible explaination and that their version is wrong will likely lead to some conflict and hatred. You should accept the fact that maybe you don't know everything, and that maybe there's more than one "truth" out there.

The thing is, what is the truth? Sometimes it's really impossible to tell whether something is the truth or just our own perceptions. If you spread your own perceptions claiming that it's the truth, it often comes out as hate, especially when you start treating those who you don't think know the truth as opponents or enemies or look down on them and belittle them while trying to shove your "truth" down their throats.
In a religious context... whenever you spread your "truth" (which you believe is the truth and others don't agree is the truth) you are being rude and insulting to others, belittling them and their beliefs by calling them false and claiming that yours is the real truth and that they are misguided or on their way to hell or whatever. That's spreading hate.
In my country we have a saying that goes something like this: "Often the truth is better left untouched." Meaning, sometimes telling the truth can only make things worse.

Well, I don't, but then I'm in the habit of believing truth is usually true and never relative.
Watch: Fornication is a sin!
Now, the fornicators will accuse me of spreading hate, but it's their conscience accusing them. Being quick to anger is a sin as well, and one I struggle with. But that's in a more politically correct realm. No one will worry much about that, except those who take offense to the word "sin."
However, spreading hate is also a sin. And spreading untruths for the purpose of spreading hate (e.g., "God hates fags") is a particularly distasteful sin.

Definition of truth? - Assuming for a moment, we could know truth, and further that it were true that you are evil, would my statement "Carl is evil" uttered in public spread hate?

As long as you have some facts or evidence from various sources to back up your truth then nope.
