I recently wrote my ex boyfriend a final closure letter (we remained friends w/benefits for 2 years after we broke up). we still both love each other so much..it was just the long distance that he couldnt handle. neways...after talking to him i wrote him a letter telling him i needed time for myself and i couldnt talk to him anymore but hope we can become friends in the near future. why don't u think he responded? GUYS: do u not respond when u are hurting inside or do u think its that he could care less or didn't know what to say?!

Well I believe that although men do not express there selves as well as females do that we do so through other means. and in your question you said that you couldnt talk to him any more and needed time to yourself. i believe that he respected that and he is giving you the time you are asking for. and if you wanted him to respond i do believe that would be unfair because you are now toying with his emotions. if you tell a guy you dont want to talk most of the time they will listen and move on. now if you feel if you have gotten the closure you have needed and the timeyou have needed contact him and let him know that you would like to talk to him and clear the air. but dont be suprised if things are different.

Here's what I got from the letter:
1) You don't think he's good enough for you and your letter just rubs that in some more.
2) You don't want anything to do with him.
3) You want to be part of his life...later.
I don't know what you or anyone else is thinking...but I think you sent a mixed message.
It sounds like you're trying to have it both ways, too.

you said you couldn't talk to him for a while and he's respecting your decision by not talking to you. where's the problem exactly?
oh and guys just aren't that emotional about stuff generally. we generally have to take a run at it. we are insensitive to a lot of things. but then when we were out killing dinner (back when we had to), you couldn't go breaking down and crying after killing that cute little deer, now could you? it's the old evolution thing. same reason we're bigger and physically stronger.

Because a male brain is wired to analyze a problem and then fix it, not talk about it over and over again. When a problem keeps changing, like when a female keeps changing the rules, he just keeps analyzing and trying to come up with a solution. If he cannot see a solution he will become frustrated, like you would if you can't talk about the problem.

God created the genders to be equally different to each other.
The Male gender are the physical creatures while The Female gender are the emotional creatures.
Guys like to be physical when they are showing affection, Us Women like talking about our feelings.
Simply put, they don't respond like us because, God made them different from us.
He was probably hurt and felt rejected, give him some time, it could take him awhile for him to react in a way he thinks is appropiate.

some guys just aren't as emotional as women. you may have just picked one of them. Or it could be like you said, he just didn't know what to say. You can always just come right out and ask him how he feels about you now, and if there's no response from that, then he doesn't care about you as much as you do him perhaps even as a friend, so I'd move on altogether.

What do you want from this chap. You said you would not like to continue talking to him any more? That is probably because there is another guy you have just open communications with. And your ex knows that. (Or suspects as much). So what else do you want him to do?

because men are brought up differently then women, we are not as emotional because we are brought up to be strong, and show no weaknesses. We do feel bad when hurting inside but we find better ways to take our hurt out then to nag our friends about it.

Because their egos are bruised quicker than ours. Men usually get over this kinda thing a day late and a dollar short. He will come around later than sooner, if not it wasn't meant to be and you'll move on! Because your bruises will heal before his do.

men and women function from different sides of the brain. they see,think,hear, feel, and respond different from females, we're more emotional, go into more detail, need more attention,undivided attention,we need to know that they hear us and want them to respond that we know they understand where we are coming from, as far as lettin them down, they want to be the first to end the relationship, i guess its an ego thing, they have much pride, even when they are hurting.
