I see what it says, but he was referring to some literary quote. I'm wondering what quote he was referring too. If I knew, I might understand what he meant by that.

Sounds to me like someone is planning to be waiting on the steps of the cathedral with a rose in their lap.

It means he/she will be waiting on the steps of that location w/a yellow rose in hand. Ayellow rose signafies jealousy so if the person wants to meet you sounds like a controller off the bat, stay away. But I guess they said yellow rose so you would know who they were when you saw them w/it.
