I am not able to utilise Adobe Photoshop creatively.Can any expert on this help me step by step with the path to be followed for different use of Adobe Photoshop ?Is the software download is free?

These here are some of my favorite photoshop tutorial bookmarks.
There is a wealth of information to be gleaned from them, assuming you already understand the basics of Photoshop (like how to access each tool, understanding how layers work, etc).
No, Photoshop is not free. The latest version costs US$649. You may or may not find an outdated copy for cheaper somewhere, like EBay. However, they do offer a free trial.
To aid you, also consider buying plugins, such as those from Alien Skin, and Flaming Pear.

You can get a 30 day trial from the Adobe site. I find following tutorials on the web quite usefull - www.goodtutorials.com always seems to be the best site.

there's endless possibilities you can creat in adobe...i am not shure about the tutorials, i think you need to buy the software, there is no free downloads on this but try to find on software outlets..you might find demo cds..
unless you live in asia you can find pirated CDs on sidewalks...
