ill b baking a piggy shaped cake for my friend's surprise bday party. the icing on the outside will be pink (strawberry flavoured ) what flavour should i bake the cake in ? maybe chocolate or vanilla ?? i dont know what is more appropriate. i appreciate if you help me :)

Double-layer vanilla sponge with real homemade strawberry jam in the middle of the two layers.....
then it will look like the piggy is bleeding when you bite into it.... he he he

Both would be good. The strawberry frosting with a chocolate cake I think would work well. On the other hand so will the vanilla. Hope your friend likes it.

A white cake would probably be best -- no chance of the darker chocolate showing through the icing. Or, if you can find a strawberry cake recipe, that'd be delicious, too.

vanilla definitely.the chocolate will be too strong and wash away the delicate taste of strawberry.but if you really want a mouthful,get yourself made a strawberry cake too.

Strawberry cake too! I love that artificial strawberry Betty Crocker cake mix and frosting! Home made with real strawberries sounds yummy, too.

most people will choose vanilla but i say chocolate cause... well... it's unique!!.. hope your friend will like it!!! what ever cake your baking!!??
