Both flan and quiche are used in the UK as terms for dishes made with a pastry case and a savoury filling. Flan is also used for pastry dishes with sweet filling.
However strictly speaking, flan should only be a sweet dish.
The most traditional quiche recipe is Quiche Lorraine which is made with cheese and bacon.

It depends where you live. In the UK a flan usually has a sponge base and a quiche would have a pastry base. Traditionally here a flan would be used for sweet things, a quiche for savoury.

They are the same. in spanish country and in england it is known as a flan and in America and elsewhere it is know as a quiche.
Crème caramel or flan is a kind of rich custard dessert with a layer of soft caramel on top. Both names are of French origin. The dish has spread across Europe and the world, and is known as 'flan' in Spanish-speaking countries. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flan
In cooking, a quiche [IPA: ki:ʃ] (also known in British English as a flan) is a pie that is made primarily of eggs and cream in a pastry crust. Other ingredients such as chopped meat, vegetables and cheese are often added to the eggs before the quiche is baked.

Hey MAO,
Flour and Sugar!
Both are prepared in a custard like manner. They will both have eggs and milk.
Quiche has the addition of Flour (and anything else you want to add)
Flan has the addition of Sugar (As a Caramel) in the bottom of the custard. When baked, the sugar caramel liquefies and that is the "Sauce" that tops the flan.
And as you know, BOTH ARE REALLY GOOD!
Good Eating,
