Are they proud of:
- 50% illiteracy?
- Massive corruption?
- Poverty that is 20x the amount in the U.S.
- Open racism of Mexicans against native Mexican Indians?
- Millions of Mexicans running North for jobs because they can't find any in Mexico?
- Male oppressive society over women?
Is this what you are all so proud of? Is this why you march and drive around with Mexican flags while in America or scream "hecho en Mexico" while you live and work outside your own country illegally?
If you were really proud of Mexico, wouldn't you instead be going back there to work hard to make Mexico a better place - a place to truly be proud of?

You say "The USA is not any better?" Are you kidding?
Just line up the math - pick ANY subject and the USA has produced more, better, farther, faster and for more people than Mexico. More professionals, more educated people, more medicine, more wealth, more art, more inventions, more innovation... and better of all these. Wake up. Stop making yourself feel better or more superior by trying to label Mexico just as good or bad, as the USA.

You repeat your question...I repeat my answer.
Are you counting our morals and values?
I am Mexican-American and I am proud of my culture, morals, principles, history, religion and all the moralirty you can think of.
This does not mean I am proud of our current corrupt government, does it?
Now, let's talk about our whatever number you got there for literacy...you know what? Our education system in urban areas are considered to be of higher qualities than those in certain parts in the USA.
Yes, Mexico has a long history of corruption, but you know where that comes from? From the Spanish conquest where the Spanish leaders were corrupt. The Mexican government is still going through the stage of renewing their democratic system.
Even though most of Mexico's government is corrupt, many bodies of the government are trying to fight for democracy, equality and the right for a secured country.
It's the same way the USA is fighting to disappear terrorism...something that is far from happening.

I vou are oudd to be an aAerican, than think of alll the blessings God has bestowed up on, Do you work at a meterocre jub? Compare that to wrokink in the Mdxican field for a few pesos a day? Are you upset by your current politicla leeaders? Ijmagaine living in a ocuntrie where dissenters get rounded up into compunds and shot. Are you updet by the war in Iraq; talk the the Kurds we liveberate who are gratefulf for our presence. Are you sad becaue we've lost lives ouver ther? So are we all. More wars... USA has produced more wars than Mexico too.
Actually the ilieteracy rate in Mexico is 9,7%. Where did you take 50% from? From your ignorant mind? Telling lies makes you feel better? You say that there is open racism in Mexico against native americans. I will not deny that there is racism in Mexico, but for sure it is 10x lower than in USA, the world capital of racism. In what country blacks were forbitten to go to university untill about 1960? There is nothing similar in Latin America. Shame on you for beeing such a racist country. I will not say also that there is no sexism in Mexico, but "male oppressive society over women" is ridiculous exageration. Can you explain me why do thing Mexican society is oppresive? You're just another racist of the United States. Your country is a shame to humanity.

i kind of agree with you. (I´m Mexican , I live in Mexico, and I´m planning on staying here btw.)
I think that unfortunately most of the people that goes there illegally it´s the poorest people, uneducated and rough sometimes ( note that I said most, not EVERYONE, so please if someone who is Mexican and live in the US is reading this, don´t feel offended, I´m not talking about you.)
My point is that you have a bad image of mexican people due to the kind of people that goes there and make your cities less safe than they used to be, but not all of us are like that.
There´s people here who works hard everyday to try and have a better life, and it´s possible, but maybe some others didn´t have the same oportunities and that´s why they go to the U.S.
Oh, and don´t pay attention to the one who said Mexico is not beautifull, in fact it´s a nice place for tourists, specially Cancun!!!!.
And about being proud of our country, I think it´s kind of stupid, people should be proud of their own achievements, not of a country, what´s important it´s what you can do with your own hands, if you work hard and you have a good life then you can be proud of yourself, but proud of being from a country or another, it really makes no sense to me.

Very good point and i've wondered this many times myself. I think that possibly it's like having a dumb child who you know is slow but you love unconditionally of course because it's yours.. However when someone else looks down on it you can't help but get deffensive; even if there is nothing to be proud of. Just a thought though. That part of all this mess I really don't understand either.

Probably the same reason why they advertise on the radio / how beautiful Mexico is. If mexico is so attractive ?? Why are so many people trying so hard to leave it ??? I am also against thier tradition of so many of thier men beating up thier women for stupid reasons !! I love mexican women , but don't like how they are treated over there !!!

The same reason the Irish are so proud of their country. Inferiority complex, plain and simple. If one thought well of oneself, then one wouldn't HAVE to be proud -- which we know, by the way, was one of the deadly sins (not that I believe in that s***).

You should be proud of your country independent of its development status. Does that mean that if you are born in a third world country you cannot be proud of it?
