You get some sound on I.E. but not Firefox. Again some plugins work on firefox and not I.E. One standard that web developers work too - is Firefox compliant but not I.E. So I would use I.E. as your default and keep firefox for other sites. I have a couple of sites that I have to use Firefox for. I regularly use sites that use Flash - but one won't allow me to log in with Internet Explorer but will with Firefox. If you look at my website you will get music on the Home Page with IE - but silence with Firefox! Nothing I can do about it! But visit anyway and have a good look around. If you click the logo on the Home page and go to my other site you will even get free MP3's they are unreleased. Left click to play them, right click and saveas to download them for your MP3 player. Leave a message in my guest book! There are links to Google video too that look interesting at times. Incidentally, the Madonna video usually works in IE or Firefox. So it is technically possible to get sound on both.

I have the same problem sometimes. & when I try to download quicktime there is an error message. If you search around on google, quicktime is pretty buggy. & firefox is free. It's an issue in 1.5.0.1. Maybe it's resolved in the next version of firefox thats been out for a few months. If not I figure it's a small price to pay for all the benefits of firefox. You can download the extension IE view.

This is to educate Mr. Jibberjab above me.

United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team:
"There are a number of significant vulnerabilities in technologies related to the IE...It is possible to reduce exposure to these vulnerabilities by using a different web browser"
http://www.kb.cert.org/vuls/id/713878

PcWorld Magazine:
"...a virtual engraved invitation to hackers and other digital delinquents, Internet Explorer 6.x might be the least secure software on the planet"
http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,125772-page,3/article.html

You can look at Jibberjab's source and then look at this
http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic44405.html
to see how Jibberjab's source copied and pasted to make Firefox look bad.

Then you can go straight to the untouched legitimate source and compare each browsers patched and unpatched holes, make sure you also compare how "critical" these holes are to each browser. The conclusion is that no browser is perfect, but Insecure Exploder is the least secure browser you can be using.

One thought for the road:
Incontinent Exploder supports web standards very poorly. This means that because of over 80% of users use IE, then web developers have to downgrade their websites to work properly in IE. So when superior browsers such as Firefox or Opera browsers view a website, it sometimes does not show up correctly because the website was "broken" to show up properly in IE. Try the test yourself using IE, Firefox and then Opera.

Insecure Explosion consistently rates less secure than Firefox and Opera

First, close firefox completely and try the page agian, then if that doesn't work, try the flash plug in, it's a long shot if firefox is saying it needs quicktime, but it's worth a try.

I've got to concur with jibberjab, Firefox is rubbish. Everyone kept telling me how good it was and I should be using it. Downloaded it and had so much trouble. In the end, I am sure it was that that messed up my hard drive. Had to reformat it and load everything back on to it. Definitely would not recommend.

when firefox needs a update it tells you let it download the updates and install them its self and then close all instances of firefox and restart the browser. When you have done this you will be working okay and like most users will probably make firefox your default browser.
